Lauren Ashlea Fraser
Soprano
Lauren Ashlea Fraser graduated from the Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts with a Bachelor of Music (Classical Voice) and a Post Graduate Diploma of Music (Opera).
Lauren has performed for numerous companies in a wide variety of singing roles, encompassing everything from opera to pantomime throughout Australia and internationally. Lauren has just returned from a season of performing Ariel in The Little Mermaid in Las Vegas, a role she reprised from Brisbane seasons and was nominated 'Best Actress in a Musical". Additionally, she has performed the roles of Marian (The Music Man), Jellylorum (Cats), Lucy (Avenue Q), Peron's Mistress (Evita), Yum – Yum (The Mikado), Glinda (The Wizard of Oz), featured in the cast of Underground Opera's West End to Broadway concert and debuted "Mirror Mirror, a Cabaret", written and performed by Lauren.
Operatically she has performed with Edinburgh Studio Opera and in numerous productions at WA Academy of Performing Arts including Belinda (Dido and Aeneas), Mother (Hansel and Gretel), Taming of the Shrew (2012), Little Women (2013), The Tempest (2012), Rossini’s Stabat Mater (2011) and Mendelssohn’s Elijah (2012).
Internationally she has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (2010), as a soloist at the World Vision Choir Festival in Korea (2006) and received a Scholarship to study at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music’s Opera school. In 2014 she was a national finalist for Miss World Australia and was awarded Miss World Australia Talent.
In addition to her performing endeavors Lauren is a highly sought after voice teacher and specialises in helping young singers build confidence and vocal technique.
